Conquistadors Granted Tax Exempt Status
Posted by Webmaster | Date: 2014.08.08

The IRS has officially granted the Conquistadors Performing Arts Association tax exempt status under IRS code 501(c)3. This means the corporation will now be recognized as a public charity and any donations made to the company will be tax deductable for the donor. This is an important next step for us as we continue to build for a fully competitive drum and bugle corps and winterguard.

Preparations Underway for DCA Championships
Posted by Webmaster | Date: 2014.01.18

From the outside, many have heard about the various camps and clinics that are going on right now. The success of these events has led us to begin behind the scenes preparations for the trip to the 50th Anniversary of the Drum Corps Associates World Championships in Rochester, NY this summer.
The current plan is to continue the winter clinics and evaluate attendance and involvement and if all of the events continue to be successful, the group will be travelling to watch the annual championship competition and members will be performing in the Individual and Ensemble Competition after corps preliminaries.
We have been working with DCA and are pleased to announce that we have a block of hotel rooms booked with other corps at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. The hotel is in the closest proximity to the Individual and Ensemble Competition being held in the Rochester Convention Center in the heart of downtown.
The trip signifies an important step in bringing drum and bugle corps back to the Southern Tier. The last successful drum corps in the area was the Spectrum Drum & Bugle Corps of Corning, NY which went in active in 2001. The last drum corps contest to be held in the area was the Sounds on the Susquehanna contest in Endicott.
Membership is still open to any individual over the age of 11. All of our winter spin camps are open to anyone that wants to attend with no commitment required. Information on other projects can be obtained by filling out a membership form. A member of the administration will be in touch with you, usually within 48 hours.
